Personal message from Klaas Engelvaart, candidate for chairman

Dear members, volunteers, coaches, team managers, sponsors, and supporters,

I am proud to have signed up as a candidate for chairman of FC VVC, and I would like to introduce myself to you.

I’ve lived in Nieuw-Vennep with great pleasure since 2005. I’m now retired, but during my career, I worked as a school leader at the Herbert Vissers College, among other roles. From my experience in education and as former chairman of VV Aalsmeer, I know how important sports, community spirit, and fun are – especially for young people. It’s great to see that these very elements are so strongly present within FC VVC.

A club like FC VVC is more than just football. It’s a place where people meet, where young and old come together, and where involvement and volunteering form the foundation of everything we do. The club relies on people who give their all every week – both in the spotlight and behind the scenes. I’d like to express my sincere appreciation for that. Together, we’ll make sure the club remains a place where everyone feels welcome.

For me, the club also has a special personal meaning because my grandsons play football here. This means I experience the club not only as a board member but also as an involved grandad on the sidelines. I naturally try to set a good example, though it’s sometimes a challenge not to find myself coaching from the sidelines.

I look forward to working with the board, volunteers, coaches, team managers, players, and sponsors to continue building a healthy, welcoming, and future-oriented club. A club where performance matters, but where fun, respect, and a sense of belonging always come first.

I hope to meet you soon at FC VVC.

Best regards,

Klaas Engelvaart
