Code of Conduct

A pleasant sports environment for everyone

At FC VVC, it’s not just about football; it’s also about respect, fun, and sportsmanship. That’s why we’ve established 11 rules of conduct that apply to everyone: players, volunteers, parents, and visitors. Together, we ensure our club is a place where everyone feels at home and safe.

1. Everyone is welcome at our club FC VVC and on our sports park, and we treat everyone equally.

2. We support our club in a positive way and always show respect for visitors from other clubs.

3. We respect the work of our indispensable volunteers. They are the driving forces of our club.

4. Both players and spectators accept the decisions of referees and linesmen and appreciate their contribution to our beautiful football sport. The referee makes the final decisions, and we always assume their good intentions. We always follow the referee’s instructions.

5. We respect all others involved in matches, training sessions, and other activities of our club and appreciate their contribution. Players follow the instructions of trainers, coaches, and team leaders. If there is dissatisfaction with how things are going, a conversation is held between those involved at a calm moment.

6. In youth teams, all involved prioritize the enjoyment of the children and youth members, and sporting achievements are secondary to this. We let the children play their game and strive to let the youth members play in their own team as much as possible each week.

7. We handle our facilities and equipment carefully and adhere to the following rules to prevent damage and irregularities:

  • Alcoholic beverages are only consumed in the canteen or on the designated terrace, and not in other areas such as locker rooms.
  • Alcohol is only served to persons over 18 years old. The canteen staff, as well as trainers, coaches, and team leaders, jointly oversee this. The canteen staff is authorized to ask those involved for valid identification.
  • Only drinks purchased in the FC VVC canteen are consumed.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the canteen, locker rooms, and all other public indoor areas.
  • Possession and use of drugs are not allowed on the entire sports park.
  • We take care of the club’s clothing and equipment and that of other players and visitors.
  • After use, the locker rooms are always cleaned, including those of the visiting team after matches. Our captains and team leaders are responsible for this.

8. We absolutely do not accept from players, members, and visitors:

  • Sexual misconduct.
  • Any form of discrimination, for example, based on skin color, origin, or sexual orientation.
  • Physical violence, swearing, foul language, teasing, bullying, irritating, or hurting anyone.

The board will take immediate action against this behavior. For everyone, if we observe the above or other matters that can hurt individuals or groups of people, we address each other about it. If the unwanted behavior continues, we report it to one of the board members present at that time, or to a trainer, coach, or team leader.

9. We do not swear or curse before, during, and after training sessions and matches, whether as a player, volunteer, or spectator.

10. We conduct ourselves sportively and respectfully towards each other and our visitors and reflect this as a club. Of course, any form of physical and verbal violence is unacceptable. As a member of FC VVC, you are part of a team of players and volunteers, and to be successful as a team, you depend on each other. Let this be evident in behavior, language, and attitude. Even when we are guests at another club, all the mentioned rules apply, and we behave as good guests.

11. We adhere to these club agreements:

  • All senior members and parents of youth members are expected to do volunteer work.
  • We disapprove of discussions on social media. Discussions on social media are started individually, without prior approval from the club. We are not responsible for what our members post on social media. However, we do address each other if incorrect matters are posted on social media. We will also actively respond if escalation threatens for those involved.

At FC VVC, we find it important that everyone feels safe. Do you experience unwanted behavior or want to report an incident? Then contact our independent confidential advisor, Annuska Bos. She can be reached by email at vertrouwenspersoon@fcvvc.nl and 06 553 663 32.
