Last week, we received the sad news that our Honorary Member Roy Lechner has passed away.
For many years, Roy dedicated himself to FC VVC with great enthusiasm and commitment. In January 2026, he was appointed Honorary Member in recognition of his significant contribution to our club.
In the early years of FC VVC, Roy played an important role in communications. He managed the website and also focused on social media communication. Additionally, he was active for several years as a team manager and coach for various youth teams, where he was deeply involved in the development of our youth players.
Over the past ten years, Roy was also closely involved in communications from the canteen. Together with the canteen committee, he ensured that events such as the Sinterklaas party and the Super Saturdays were promoted. Thanks to his efforts, these activities received a lot of attention, and he contributed to the image and reputation of FC VVC.
With the passing of Roy, FC VVC loses a dedicated volunteer and a true clubman. We are grateful to him for everything he meant to our club.
We wish his family, friends, and other loved ones much strength and comfort in dealing with this great loss.
